He laughed, sounding more like a single huff of air. “You’re never civil.”
Midas’s hand landed against the table, using it to steady himself and hating that even now, he wondered over the feeling. Spreading his fingers and pressing down, just to feel the minute divots that nicked at his skin from the stone. Hades’ eyes tracked the movements before falling back to Midas. “Am I not?”

This was dumb. Midas probably bought it as a joke. He should just delete the picture. And really, it was inappropriate. He was in the middle of a team meeting for spirit’s sake! Now was not the time.
Picking up his phone as if it was about to burn his hand, he pulled open his photos before promptly crushing it against his chest. He needed to get a hold of himself before he walked back out there. He needed to delete the picture. Peeking down once more, his heart stuttered at the image that was still displayed across the screen.
