On those endless, sun bright mornings that seem to dawn only after the bloodiest of battles. Times when she's needed the warmth of someone else's body beside her to fight off the cold she sometimes thinks has burrowed right into her bones. Times when the thought of being alone is worse than losing, worse than dying, worse than literally anything else.
It never occurred to her that Malfoy might have times like that too. That he might need someone, anyone. Even if it's her.
