I've never heard anything about any demons suddenly getting all clingy or needing constant affection before, but Nero's persistently hanging off of Kyrie and randomly rubbing my shoulders while I'm trying to work. He swears up and down that he's not in heat but that's the closest thing I can find that matches what's going on with him. My daddy's old notes don't have anything useful, so we're gonna have to ask the devil directly. But Nero's clueless, and his daddy and Dante still ain't back from hell, so I guess I'm just gonna have to get a bit creative with my sources. Good thing Lady gave me her number back at Red Grave.
I'm gonna laugh if he's in heat.

"Dad."
He saw himself in Nero, right then. Long shaggy bangs clinging to his forehead, a colorful vocabulary escaping from his lips at the denial of his pleasure, limbs clinging on too tightly as if afraid of letting go, looking up at Dante like he's the only thing left that matters in this world. Seeing nothing but the one who had left them both behind.
How ironic that, unbeknownst to Nero, they had been projecting the same man onto each other.

Kyrie had always been so gentle with her. Soft touches of careful preparation, numerous butterfly kisses carrying constant reassurance, and warm hugs to bask in the afterglow as they cuddled together in a mess of sweaty limbs and damp bed sheets. It was safe. Affectionate. The ideal romance.

So when a spunky little teen clad in fashionable Hot Topic attire barreled through the door of Devil May Cry– while Vergil was out doing whatever it was Vergil did when he had enough of Dante's shenanigans and ‘needed to get away’– tickling all of the same Sparda senses that Nero had so many years ago on that fateful day in Fortuna, well... it certainly had Dante's brain doing an emergency reboot to figure out what exactly he was even looking at.
