Shiori doesn't sleep if she can help it. Her... unique situation means she doesn't need to anymore. She doesn't have to do much of anything to keep herself alive and functional, actually. So as far as she's concerned, laying around unconscious for a third of the day is just a waste of time. But Nerissa disagrees, and she can be very persuasive when she wants to be.

They let Nerissa go outside, for some reason. They let all of them go outside, but it doesn’t really give them any opportunities when Nerissa can’t fly anymore, and Biboo sinks like a rock, probably because she is one, and the twins are only pretty good at swimming, and Shiori is Shiori, and, well.

She had no intention nor, indeed, capacity, to be the sole proprietor of Madam Herta’s insatiable need for attention and praise, so she took no issue when her “lover” (she despised how pedestrian the term sounded) sought additional satisfaction from other sources.
The trouble was the particular other source Herta sought.
I.E.: Ruan Mei has concerns about her Genius girlfriend's recent infatuation with a literal Genius-killer.
PLEASE NOTE, despite the title, there is NOT any major character death in this, which is why it is not tagged as such. I promise, they're all right! Angsty and full of yearning, but still all right.
