Something suspiciously sounding like Jackie’s voice in the back of his brain told him that wasn’t the right wording, but he was too tired and already too buzzed to care. Besides, this was Shane, he didn’t need to say the perfect thing. Shane knew what he meant.

    Scott shifted. “They are both men, Hayden” he said very formally. Hayden suddenly felt like his dad was lecturing him.

    Hayden sighed. “No, Shane, you know what I mean.”

    Shane’s brow furrowed in concentration. “Like, because I bottom?” He said, slightly embarrassed.

    Scott’s steady gaze on Hayden suddenly turned very sharp.

    “No!” Hayden started. “Well, maybe? I don’t know how that works. I just mean, like, you’re real gay and Ilya likes women, right?”
