Ilya lowered her towards his face, giving her exaggerated kisses on her cheeks. That sent her into another laughing fit. She babbled before eventually saying the word Ilya loved to hear. “Papa!”
“Good job, printsessa,” Ilya encouraged. “Papa is so proud of you.”
Shane watched, a smile forming on his lips. Moments like this he couldn't imagine that this was the same man who had been known on the ice to be an instigating asshole. The man laying beside him had a look of pure adoration on his face as he watched his little girl babble at him.
