Bruce paused, coffee mug halfway to his mouth. He peeled his focus away from his phone to look at Tim with concern. “What?”
“The cat,” Tim clarified. Maybe he should have strategized his entrance, so he didn’t sound so crazy. He took a breath, which stretched into a yawn, and settled his posture to try again. “I think Damian’s cat is trying to murder me.”

“No, they don’t leave me totally alone.” Tim hurriedly explained. “My neighbor Bruce Wayne looks after me.”
Batman stared at him for a long while. “Bruce Wayne.” He parroted slowly.
(A young Tim Drake gets kidnapped by Falcone. When Batman rescues him, Tim tells Batman that Bruce Wayne is his temporary guardian. Oddly enough, Batman isn’t fooled by this perfect cover story.)

Summary
There are two different versions of Tim’s dad. There is Tim’s dad, and Jack.
Tim’s dad asks him how his day was after school, Tim’s dad ruffles his hair and calls him ‘champ’ His dad lets him pick a movie for family movie night. Tim’s dad shakes his head with a fond smile when Tim plays his music too loud and doesn’t hear when he is called down. Tim’s dad is cool, and laughs a lot.
Jack is the opposite. Jack sucks.

Between one blink and the next, a searingly hot palm presses against his chest. The demon is suddenly much, much closer. Her stare bores into him as she says, in perfect tandem with his own voice, “ - Jason Todd back from the dead."
