That seems to get their attention because they glance at each other in a way that makes Clark a little worried. “Well B isn’t doing too great. We were hoping you would be able to come and help him.”
Worry instantly shoots through him and his scent must show that because they both now look at him with worried faces. “What’s wrong with Bruce?”
Or, Bruce works himself into a stress heat and Clark has to come and save the day.

What follows is nine months of him doing what he does best: catastrophizing, planning obsessively, and loving his little family so much it undoes him.
It gets better, eventually.
