His voice was nothing more than a quiet whisper, "One day, Sakura-kun, I wish you'd talk to me about this."
Following the unfulfilled wish, Suo flipped the cigarette and set it back into the box upside down.
(Or: A very angsty yet pining story where Sakura smokes his last cigarette to grant Suo his wish. They also fall in love. Yay! Happy ending!)

There’s no imminent war on the horizon. Shishitoren and Furin have become allies. Overall, life has gone back to normal and being on different turfs signifies that both gangs don’t have to interact all that often, if at all. So Sakura had no excuse to come to Togame, same as Togame didn’t have any excuse to invite Sakura to the festival that day.
But that’s the whole point, isn’t it? They don’t need excuses, because Togame said they were friends and friends can hang out and do stuff together without an ulterior motive.
It's as simple as that.

or; Togame realizes that he and Sakura are friends, but not as close as they could be. After spending more and more time together, he also comes to the conclusion that whatever feelings Sakura provokes in him, he wants to experience it more.

So Vein doesn’t trust anybody. How could he? He hasn’t survived a quarter of a century walking barefoot through hell being naïve. If anything, he prefers animals. They’re predictable. They demonstrate their intent with raised hackles and bluff charges. They’re simpleminded, concerned only about their young and where their next meal is coming from. If Vein had the time, he’d probably own a dog or two. It’d be a nice change of pace, having a companion that doesn’t have a malicious bone in its body. He has ample evidence in the shape of stab-wounds and bullet-holes to prove that the hearts of men are tainted with corruption. They always have been.
But God, (or whatever cosmic entity is running things out in the ether), has made a delightful habit of shitting in his dinner. It’s as if he’s got a standard-bearer hellbent on undermining him, or a trio of witches pointing notched knuckles toward Birnam Wood, because every lesson he’s ever learned fizzles out like a one-hit wonder the moment he lays eyes on a certain blond.

Sleep slowly creeped on his tired mind, until he heard a voice calling his name. What? Who the hell was trying to talk to him, can’t they see that he’s sleeping?
He slowly opened one green eye and what he saw made his heart miss a beat. The most beautiful man he ever saw was towering over him, his brown hair falling into his eyes, hiding them. On his shoulder was perched… was that a cat? No, no… A raccoon! Yes, that was definitely a raccoon. Ranpo opened his eyes wide, taking in the appearance of the man. He was gorgeous, in the back of his mind he remembered something… Did he already meet him?
“Ranpo, dear, I think you had enough to drink for today,” The brown haired man smiled softly “let’s get you home.”.

In other words: Ranpo gets drunk, forgets Poe and falls in love with him again.

Edogawa Ranpo was a great detective. So of course he'd notice all the little things; the wayward glances, the attempt at touches, and most importantly of all, the lack of awareness of his behaviour. Yes, he knew Edgar Allen Poe liked him, but perhaps a slip of the tongue would be enough for the genius (yet utterly oblivious) author to understand it too.
