Summary
"Max listened to the hum of the city below her, pulsating beneath her feet. She could hear an arguing couple two blocks away, she could smell the street food from the vendor on 39th, and she could feel the rain slowly permeating the part of her face exposed under her mask. When she stood here, she often felt as though she and the city became one for a brief, if fleeting, moment. If she really concentrated, it was like her entire life melted away around her and she fused with the energy of the streets below. She was in the lights that illuminated the corner of 52nd street, she was in the breeze that wafted through the park on 10th Ave, she was in the tracks of the subway that rhythmically thundered under the stress of the carriages travelling along its lengths. She was everywhere and she was everything, and if only for that one moment she could be at peace, then she was okay with that. Because while her sight was gone, her other senses now ensured that no one could hide from her justice. The nuns used to say, "The LORD gives, and the LORD takes away", and she was inclined to agree. After all, There are other ways to see..."

Summary
Rumi swallowed hard before pushing the door open.
The smell hit immediately.
Pizza dough.
Garlic.
Warmth.
Normal.
The little bell above the door rang softly.
Zoey looked up instantly.
And the second she saw Rumi standing there soaked from the rain, exhausted, and trying way too hard to look okay.
her entire expression softened.
Rumi gave a small awkward wave from the entrance.
“Hey.”
Zoey stared at her for a second longer than normal.
Not dramatic.
Not suspicious.
Just… studying her.
Like she was trying to figure out why Rumi looked exhausted down to her bones lately.
Rumi immediately shoved her hands into the pocket of her hoodie and forced herself into casual mode.
Cool.
Relaxed.
Definitely not held together by painkillers and bad decisions.
“You look terrible,” Zoey said bluntly.
Rumi snorted softly as she slid into the booth across from her.
“Wow. You really know how to make a girl feel special.”

Summary
"I'll ask once. Where's Rumi?" Mira practically spat out the question, grip tightening on her gok-do. Her eyes were fixed on Rumi's shoulder.
Rumi followed her gaze, and her whole world flipped on its head.
Her patterns were out.
OR
Rumi actually manages to kill Jinu in the bathhouse. Shame he already ripped her costume...

Summary
Ryu Rumi, eighteen years old, beloved idol in training, died on a cloudy Friday afternoon.
Nobody ever found her, there was no funeral.
But Ryu Rumi, hunter apprentice and pop star heiress, died on a cloudy Friday afternoon in a small hotel room, and someone else walked out.
A year later, twenty year old 'Yun Jia' has a small apartment, two dead end jobs, and a mystical shield tugging on her throat like a leash to pull her back to a home that has moved on without her. Despite HUNTR/X being the most popular Kpop duo in Korea, Jia has never listened to a single one of their songs, or gone to a show, or watched an interview.
Because Yun Jia is a coward. A nobody. But she's alive while Ryu Rumi is dead, and that's all she thinks will make her happy.
Because Ryu Rumi, beloved friend and one of the most important people in the world, died when she was eighteen, when Yun Jia left her corpse in a hotel room in Seoul, and walked out wearing her skin.
But now she's a ghost, and she won't go away.

Summary
The aftermath is quiet. When their feet touch back down to the Namsan Tower stage and the bright sunlight cast as they formed new honmoon fades away, night reclaiming Seoul, Rumi doesn't hear the thousands upon thousands of fans surrounding them. She doesn't hear much of anything. She doesn't feel much of anything. It's like her world has narrowed to her hands, and Zoey and Mira's hands clasped in them. But even that feels barely there. She's barely there.
They won. Now they have all the time in the world to pick up the pieces. And for Rumi to learn how to live a life that isn't just waiting to die.
UPDATE: it'll take a bit but we are in fact headed towards Polytrix before this fic ends cuz I NEED IT.
