    She stops when, in the faintly lit kitchen, a small card on the counter catches her eye. Huh, strange. She picks it up, eyes scanning over both sides of the tiny piece of cardstock, and holds it up to the light of the microwave to see better. MINISTRY OF JOY, the front reads, the splash of yellow a stark contrast to the card’s black background.

    Ministry of Joy… She's heard of them before. That book, where did she put that book? It's around here somewhere…

    The microwave beeps, but she's already across the room scouring her bookshelf, filtering through the fiction and fantasy and nonsense she isn't looking for in search for that goddamn book. It can't have gone anywhere; that was only six months ago, hardly any extensive stretch of time- aha! Here it is.

    Alton Towers is widely considered to be ground zero for all sorts of strange and unorthodox happenings among the theme park industry. Sophie Westfield, a ride mechanic from Thorpe Park, has never paid it any mind- until, six months after her first visit to Towers, when she finds a business card on her kitchen counter from the elusive and mysterious Ministry of Joy.

    It had all started in the war room. Peach, Mario, Daisy, and Toadsworth were all arguing over the best strategy to deal with Bowser and his reign of terror. How that ended with Luigi in Bowser's ballroom disguised as a Princess, he isn't exactly sure.

    AKA: Luigi is tasked to spy on Bowser using the Super Crown to take the form of Princess Luigina of Brook Land. Falling in love with the Koopa King was not a part of the initial plan.

    After the unfortunate demise of an amusement company named Six Flags, a secret organization was formed to make a deal. If they could do whatever they wanted to the now closed parks, they would help the company refund money to everyone. The only answer was yes.

    This secret organization was called The Government.

    They went into the parks and made the rollercoasters into advanced test subjects that could save the world if necessary. The only thing they did was fight intruders and possibly each other.

    A certain test subject has the ability to break this loop forever. She probably won’t, but it’s really worth a shot.
