    Summary

Then there is silence. Another kind of quiet than the one of waking up to careful voices and crackling fire. Hershel wishes he stayed in the first minutes of the day, without an itchy scarf, staring through the window. Being in the middle of whatever kind of nest Maggie and Negan have tangled for themselves is different.

(Maggie, Negan, Hershel and Ginny go tree hunting.)

    Forwards, beckon, rebound by Anonymous

“Maggie—” His voice cracks, hoarse and strained, but there’s despair in it. His eyes flick up to hers. He knows what’s coming.
“Shut up,” Maggie snaps, her voice tight, almost unrecognizable. “Lay back.”
Negan’s head falls back against the snow as he exhales sharply, obeys, a sound half-pain and half-protest. His chest heaves, his breath is short, shallow bursts. His hands twitch, rising as though to grab her wrist, but he lets them drop back to his sides, defeated. Maggie’s eyes don’t meet his, locked instead on the wound as she tightens the belt around his leg.
“You don’t—” Negan’s words falter, breaking into a rasp. He swallows hard, his Adam's apple bobbing before forcing the rest out. “There’s no way in hell I’m gonna survive this.”

    Summary

When her father is knocked off his feet by a case of the flu, Maggie returns from the city to take care of him. Unfortunately, that includes making sure Hershel's passion project, his beloved Irish pub, doesn't fall under while he is out of action. As expected, the calibre of his clientele hasn't changed much in the last dozen years.

What Maggie doesn't expect is for Greene's to be haunted by the very reason she ran away from Walkerton in the first place.

what a wicked thing to do (make me dream of you) by constant_reylo

“Oh, my god. I’ve heard stories about school teachers who drive around with a glove compartment full of candy, but most of them are in jail now.”
“Funny. Might I add, it's also incredible to what lengths a man will go to satisfy his oral fixation when his mouth isn’t full of cigarettes and alcohol.”
She takes it from him, but doesn’t unwrap it. “I was wonderin’ who made the glory hole in the men’s room at Greene’s .”
“Hey, what can I say? Modern, ex-substance-abusing men such as Daryl and I gotta get our kicks somewhere.”

    I, Carrion by Anonymous

"You expect them to accept you?" Soon to become a keepsake, Rosita’s voice cut through the dark.
The men who had stayed behind were unloading cargo, crates filled with things that they could guess the island rarely saw. Maggie watched as the captain oversaw the operation, and maybe her imagination had always been fertile—she could already hear her name on his tongue, her feet stomping around on the dark wood and her hands flayed alive by the ropes.
She nodded at the image; "I will make them."

"Better?” Maggie asks, still breathless. Their legs intercalating—she's propping herself by the elbows, though he can still feel that she’s got no choice but to let him support most of her weight.

So there's not an inch of her that Negan can't feel, or hasn't felt against him.

    “Much.”

    He's not sure.

What doesn't kill me (makes me) by The_Readers_Muse

"You don't regret killing him," she hissed, thinking about the note he'd left. The one she'd tossed into the fire and immediately regretted. Yearning for just a piece of him. Something to hold. Something to keep. "Without him in the way, you think you can force this somehow. You wont. You can't. If he was still alive-"
The field around them whipped back with an eldritch wind. Sky darkening like it was trying to match their mood.
"Oh, sweetheart," Negan drawled, making it far easier to hate him as the lengthening syllables prickled the hair on the back of her neck. "If I hadn't killed him, he would have lost you anyway. That's how it works."
She didn't give him the satisfaction of telling him he was wrong. Or giving him the argument he wanted. Instead, they stood like that until the dream faded. Looking at each other like two drowning people staring at the only life jacket left. Exhausted and animally desperate.
