What makes a family? Is it your blood?
It's in this cell that Outlook's child dies and Sabo is born. They'll never understand the wilderness underneath his skin.

Cleverly, the Commander hot on his trail leads him right into a dead-end.
"Listen, I don't know what I did to offend you but we can talk!" Empty hands raised up, he tries to placate the guy. It seems to anger him further.
"You don't know what you did?" A hand slams against the wall, freezing him in place.
"Sabo."
"How- how do you know my name?"
Or is it the fact that no matter how far you lose yourself, they'll never let you go?

"Suddenly he heard a very familiar voice shout his name. He looked up only to be met with the sight of his twin.
“Sabo??” He asked, surprised. Then he followed up with: “What the hell are you even-” before the shouting crowd directed their questions at him. Sabo took that opportunity to get over to his side of the ship. As soon as he was close enough, he flung himself onto his brother in a way that likely would've toppled him over if he was anyone but said brother, screaming about his birthday. A topic he had purposefully been avoiding ever since he joined. Great."

While descending from the mast and strolling through the people, Marco eyed a blond boy, cover with a full black cloak, discussing with Deuce. That was another man in the Spade’s crew he didn’t catch the name of – Marco didn’t think he saw him often before today. The guy was rather shy. He didn’t think it through, they would eventually grew closer as time passed.
And closer they were going to grew, but he didn’t know that at the time.

Summary
Garp thought he was quite brilliant when, in an effort to discourage Ace and Sabo’s ambitions of piracy, he gives them custody of his new baby grandson. After all, the two might have been teenage delinquents, but even they wouldn’t actually go out to sea with a baby in their care, right?
Hint: he is very, very wrong.
(An AU where Luffy is born 16 years after Ace instead of 3, and Sabo remains with Ace on Mt. Corvo instead of trying to set sail on his own.)

Summary
Sabo took what felt like the hundredth deep breath of the day, and finally jumped off of his already tied up boat onto the railing of one of the most infamous pirate ships around.
Someone screeched, and he saw a man —Vista? He was pretty sure that was his name— trip over his own two feet and faceplant in, apparently, pure surprise. It was kind of valid, despite having thought about his entrance for over two hours, Sabo hadn’t really chosen the best option. But in his defense, he wasn’t sure there was a best option, or even a good one for that matter.
“Ah… hello,” very smooth, “I’m not here to pick a fight,” a great continuation, truly. Koala would have hit him so damn hard if she had heard.

.The war went a little different. The papers did not report it all that differently though, and Sabo is determined to figure it out.
