When a routine magical detox after a mission turns out to be stronger than the curse he bears, he wishes he’d told at least someone earlier, he would’ve liked to visit Atlantis under less pressuring circumstances.
OR
Dick is exposed as a merman/atlantean, gets a tour of Atlantis, and has to decide whether he’d like to face the culture and people he was stolen from, or ignore it all and return to his family on land.

“King Henry, we thank you for your decision,” Another man in the room says, wearing an outfit of a Duke. “Your wise verdict is always appreciated.”
The King, Henry, grins smugly. “Of course, now I release you,” He says, waving to the rest of the court. Henry stands up once everyone is gone, brushing off his pants before leaving the throne room via a secret door.
The guard on the other side of the throne looks at the first guard. “Mike, you okay?” They question, sounding concerned. The guard, Mike, nods mutely, not looking over at the second guard. “..You sure?”
Or
Mike is an important guard in an empire and Will is an important figure in a resistance against said empire.

Mike’s eyes burned.“Yeah okay, I picked one.”
“Alright, then I ask some questions. Try to find you. You only give me yes or no answers.”
Mike shifted in his seat, “Okay.”
“The idea is to delve in where your brain goes when it wants to hide,” he explained, “what it finds safe, familiar or innovative.”

Something clicked in Mike’s brain, like he suddenly remembered the answer to a test.
“I’m not hiding.”
He said before he could stop himself. Dustin’s arms tightened around him, before he pushed Mike away, just enough that he could look at him in confusion.
Mike blinked, mind suddenly clearer, what was he saying-“I’m not hiding, I’m looking for something.”
