"Why do you get to decide that?" Feng Xin sounded a little irritated.
"I can't control what goes on in your head. But a home is something warm and loving, full of life." He remembered his old home with his mother. They had nothing but each other, and that was home to Mu Qing. He loved that home.
He was not capable of being that for someone.
"A home is something good."

Summary
Feng Xin gapes. Did he just. Roll his eyes? In front of His Highness? At him? His attitude is so fucking annoying.
The shock freezes him to his spot in Xie Lian’s chambers as delayed anger rises like an insistent fire behind his lungs. His hands are itching to start a fight in Xie Lian’s honour when he’s once again intercepted by Xie Lian’s timely actions.
His Highness leaps up from his seat at his vanity and crosses the room in two strides, taking his arm and tugging Mu Qing along with his other hand. “Let’s go! We’ll all get along, won’t we? I want to practice with you both today!” Xie Lian is so bright and the grip on his arm is so firm that Feng Xin closes his mouth with an audible click.
Having been given the highest honour of being his crown prince’s bodyguard, Feng Xin is very content with his life. But when Mu Qing, all smug and irritating, shows up unexpectedly, he’s faced with the inevitable problem of dealing with him, and the annoying feelings that come with knowing him.

Before the next drop, he finally gets a chance to look over at Mu Qing without giving himself whiplash. Mu Qing’s cheeks are pink from the wind, his eyes are glistening, and there’s an almost feral grin on his face. Strands of dark hair are escaping his ponytail, fluttering around his face, but the usually elegant and composed Mu Qing doesn’t even seem to care. The deep brown of his eyes turns almost purple where the light hits his face. His lips are bitten red and chapped. Feng Xin is seized with the urge to kiss him senseless. He’s the most beautiful thing Feng Xin has ever seen. He wants to be the one making Mu Qing look like this, the one to shatter his perfect composure, make him scream–
The car flips over, and he spends the rest of the ride fighting down nausea and regretting every life decision that’s led him here.
