Let's just say Thanos makes good on that promise when he captures Loki after tracking him down after the destruction of Asgard. However, unlike in IW, Loki doesn't have the Tesseract with him, so the events of IW don't happen.
Instead of killing him, the Mad Titan decides that the god might still be useful for his future plans, but he wants to make sure that he learns his lesson this time...The story has multiple endings. ["good", bad, and wò̸͉̆rş̵̛̗̹̣̼͎̘̆e̵̜̺̯̪̞̪͙͑͐]
[uh. I feel like i gotta warn y'all... this shit gets heavy and very dark in some of the endings. VERY graphic descriptions of torture, btw. you've been warned!]

He closes his eyes and feels himself spinning, tense as the skin of a new drum. Eventually Thor taps his face and says, “Breathe.”
Loki opens his eyes. Looks at the wound, no longer filled with glass, then sucks in a breath. It’s a little easier, but his stomach is on fire and his ears have started ringing again. Oh, that’s a lot of blood. Oh gods. It’s fairly gushing out of him, trickling over his leathers, pooling on the dirt. His face smooths in dread and Thor’s expression isn’t much different.
“Stark, I need you to respond. Right now. We have an issue,” Thor says into his earpiece.

Asta froze, breathing heavily as she slowly turned to look at... Whatever Harry was. His chest was heaving, his body shaking slightly and his face nearly as pale as the snow surrounding them. He looked... terrified, even on the non-human side of his face, and Asta felt her heart clench sympathetically.
-Or-When Harry and Asta fall down the crevasse the second time around, Harry hits his head. Now Asta has to deal with a concussed, slowly-bleeding-to-death alien who, for the first time in his life, is experiencing fear.

Astarion grins like the cat that's just caught the mouse. "That's my good boy."

Goro opens the door to his apartment with a trembling hand. Everything’s dark, foggy, red, red everywhere. The lights in his apartment, the darkness from outside. It feels like he’s back in the engine room, but he knows for a fact that he left; he just doesn’t know how.
So much is missing from his mind that it’s killing him. He doesn’t know if he wants to remember, maybe there’s a reason he doesn’t, but how would you feel if suddenly you woke up with a large gap in your head, when memories were all you had left to keep you feeling human, and not like the monster you really are?
