Summary
Jon saves Damian from certain death just in time after a mission goes wrong, but the Damian who emerges from the Lazarus Pit is different, planting the seed of doubt in a conflicted Jon who can't help but feel drawn to this new Damian despite being afraid of change.
This fic is loosely inspired by "The Summer Hikaru Died" and focuses on the friendship of Jon and Damian as two teenagers around 16 years of age (no time jump bullshit that ain't canon in my house).
This is a slow burn romance with some angsty moments as Jon struggles with his feelings for Damian and Damian recovers from unanticipated consequences of using the Lazarus Pit. No smut, they're teens but there's plenty of romantic tension between the two and an eventual first kiss.

Bruce knows he’s not good. Well aware that he deserved what Alfred gave him when he was a child. But now that he has children of his own, Bruce can’t fathom disciplining them like he was.That doesn’t mean Alfred was wrong to inflict those punishments on Bruce. Bruce deserved it. Just not his kids.
