Summary
When she and William visit Victor at the water-tower near Vaduz and discover his Creation, Elizabeth Harlander insists on staying: after all, the Creature needs care Victor seems incapable of giving. Both she and Victor must grapple with resentment and their own desires as William leaves them all behind to go back to Vienna. Having negotiated a tentative peace, Elizabeth, Victor, and William are forced to reconcile their feelings for each other alongside the addition of Victor's creation, whose presence stirs up memories long-buried and old hurts left to fester.
Isolated in the tower outside of Vaduz, with winter closing in and with William and Elizabeth's wedding on the eventual horizon, the four of them have no choice but to navigate their new relationship (whether Victor wants to or not).
