Summary
“What is that?” His breath fogs the glass, eyes round and wide with wonder. He hastily shoves his glasses onto his nose and blinks in the spectacle, awed.
It’s a glorious phenomenon — just as bright and red as the Petrova Line, the length of it twisted around the ship and into itself like some kind of cosmic twizzler. The end of it appears tethered to the horizon, body undulating like a cosmic silly string waving in the breeze. It sparkles with interwoven crystals made of starlight, shimmers blinking in and out of focus with flashes of rose and scarlet. Alluring… Beckoning.
Follow me, it whispers in his head in a voice he doesn’t recognize. Find him.
In which the universe ensures the lost and forsaken are found in the end.

Summary
“Simon?” Grace tries out the name, the syllables rolling of his tongue. To his surprise, Simon looks up. He looks scared and confused, regardless of how harsh his bark may come off or unnatural his eyes are. Grace longs to help him.
“Can you c’mere, please? So I can show you proof I’m not lying to you?” Grace asks with a new wave of patience. Simon looks away and doesn’t move, choosing to glare at the wall.
“I don’t bite,” Grace reassures.
“What if I do?” Simon warns, tone too soft to be threatening.
Grace sits down with a grunt, crisscrossed on the floor from where he stood with the laptop settled on his lap.
“Then that’s a risk I’ll just have to take.”

Ryland Grace has been living happily on Erid the past year, or so he believes. He loves his comforts and small wins of his everyday, but when he’s alone it feels as though something’s missing.
Maybe this hard around the edges and mysterious stranger, the only human he’s made contact with in years, will become a friend.
Maybe something more, as his foolish soft heart always holds onto hope.
Art now in chapter 5 as a treat while I write more ❤️
