Summary
一开始也只是一些小细节，一些很小的事物。那些用废弃衣物制成的绷带、小半瓶蒸馏水、针与线、以及更多的剪刀，在他们艰难穿越法国到达阿格诺的路途中，当Gene不可避免地失去它们时，偶尔会有一些这样的野战装备被回收，由士官们——通常是Grant 或者 Lip——像交付黄金一样珍重地交到Gene手里。起初，Gene并没有多想。他全身心地投入于确保全连一半的人不会染上肺炎或者累倒，但是当Lip一而再、再而三地把一小堆补给送来时，Gene起疑了。

Bruce looked at the rambling mass of former Robins in the back of the Batmobile, to the fourth one to his left. They were all stoned out of their minds on a mixture of sedative and cheer toxin. Furthermore, there was a chance that the antidote to either of the drugs would interact with the other, making it safer to let the drugs pass through them naturally. But that meant he needed to supervise four highly trained vigilantes who were all very disinhibited and not particularly lucid. If it was just one, he’d take them to their room and supervise them there but it would take him a while to get Tim, Steph, Dick and Jason to their rooms and then he’d have to split his attention between them. Unless...
Or Dick, Jason, Steph and Tim are hit by cheer toxin and Bruce has to deal with it.

Summary
In the past, it's a standard gala until men with guns interrupt.
In the present, it's a charity event. With only one man and only one gun.
Jason saves the day both times. (The second time is a little worse, though.)
Jason reaches up, yet again, to fiddle with the knot of his tie. Bruce sighs knowingly and catches his hand then holds it, swinging it between them. He smiles as Jason rolls his eyes but doesn’t take his hand back, just arranges it so they’re clasped together.
“It’s not as tight as it feels,” Bruce says.
He chews on his bottom lip before he realizes what he’s doing and stops, scowling. “You’re used to it, old man,” Jason says. “It’s exactly as tight as it feels.”
“Jay – .”
“I don’t even gotta be at this one,” Jason whines, sounding all of five instead of thirteen. “C’mon, B. Couldn’t I’ve just stayed home? You don’t need me.”
