Summary
The biggest changes in Milluki Zoldyck’s life have always been heralded by his younger siblings. A new favorite son, a new family heir, the end of his physical training and the start of his interest in technology. But even if they brought mostly misery, not everything with Milluki’s siblings was bad. There were moments — babysitting, watching movies, getting a computer and giving a pair of yo-yos — that he could see the good in. Summary
A Canary in a Coal Mine.
Etymology: An allusion to caged canaries (birds) that miners would carry down into the mine tunnels with them. If dangerous gasses such as carbon monoxide collected in the mine, the gasses would kill the canary before killing the miners, thus providing a warning to exit the tunnels immediately.
Meaning: (idiomatic) Something whose sensitivity to adverse conditions makes it a useful early indicator of such conditions; something which warns of the coming of greater danger or trouble by a deterioration in its health or welfare.
Thanks to his new friends, Killua leaves the Zoldyck family. As punishment for encouraging his rescuers, and for her insolence, Canary is assigned to look after Alluka Zoldyck. But it’s quickly made apparent that despite being the family’s pariah, Alluka is far from the most monstrous of the Zoldycks. An odd friendship develops between the two girls, and the young butler learns just how many family matters the Zoldycks have buried.

Summary
It actually worked. Reflecting Jesse's number in her hand, they watched as two nearly identical doors opened in the air. Two portals side by side. One showing the sun setting over a peaceful lake lined by pines, the other showing a sparse forest, the sky dark with the moon hanging high overhead and a small stream glittering in the distance. They were leaving, but they weren't leaving together.
Lake made a promise. She swore to Jesse that she would find him, and that was exactly what she was going to do.
This was going to be a lot easier said than done, wasn't it?

Summary
Being off the train for over four years now, Lake was used to people staring at this point. They had gotten very good at ignoring them, and most people weren't brave enough to actually try and start anything. The people who were tended to back down pretty fast, once Lake got going. Still, being in a new environment for college meant even more people paying attention to them than usual.
And not all of them turned out to be people they could just ignore.
