Steve Harrington is normal, everyone thinks so. Captain of the swim team, starter on the varsity basketball team, most popular boy in school, absolute heartthrob, handsome, and rich. He's King Steve, Steve “the Hair” Harrington. He's an all-American boy growing up in the heartland. And he's spent years working very hard to keep it that way, because the truth is the last thing he is, is normal.
No, Steve Harrington has a dark past he's desperate to escape, however that gets much harder when Will Byers goes missing and Steve just can’t shake the feeling that something is very wrong in Hawkins, something that's pointing straight to his past. But everything will be fine, right? All he has to do is pretend everything is normal.

“My mama will-” He starts to say, turning to reassure Ellie-
Only to find her already jumping off of the wagon, Mercy following her after he chased after them, wagging his tail and panting.
“Ellie!” He hisses, looking for a grownup to tell. “Ms. Monica!” He calls, seeing her first. “Ms. Monica, Ellie’s leaving!”
Ms. Monica, though, is busy looking at Jesse’s skinned knee and Nara’s bumped head, and she doesn’t hear him. He bounces on his toes, frustrated, but Ellie is already walking away, and if he can’t get a grownup soon…
He stomps his foot, frustrated.
And then he drops off of the wagon and runs after her.
(after a false alarm means the kids get evacuated en masse, ellie decides to try and get back to her family on her own) (against his will, kevin gets dragged along for the ride)

Arya awakes to a world without her family in the past and she is going to do whatever it takes to make sure her family is safe, even if it isn't the family she was born into.
After all the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives. Even if the pack isn't of wolves.

well, not really but better safe than sorry.
Peter didn't know what would happen when he put on the gauntlet--staring the Mad Titan down.
certainly not this.
or: Peter was the one that used the Gauntlet and the effects were world changing. Now, Peter is a immortal, the Guardian of the Stones--keeping them safe through the passage of time, starting from the beginning.
He was there when the planets started to form, and watched as civilizations grew. He got use to his new task, keeping a eye on the stones as they influenced the world around them. He had part of the stones with him, this was true--and he had long since master the use of them.
However, the stones still needed to be out in the cosmos so he was more connected to the spirit of them, and it marked him. Now, he knew when the a wielder of a Stone threatened to unbalance everything and would take it away.
He lived like this for millennia, unchanged--until the year of 2010 on planet Earth.

Summary
She gets her other samples with probably a little more haste and a little less smalltalk than she usually might. Mom, Aunt Maria, Grandpa Frank, Grandpa Bill, and even Kevin all give samples, only Ollie spared on account of being a toddler. All of them turn blue, just as they should.
All while Ellie’s remains damningly yellow.
Back in her workspace in the clinic, she stares at it for a long, long time before she pushes herself out of her chair to go collect another.
