He is still holding the bear when he scoots closer to Adrian, nuzzling into their carapace. It is not unlike what a pebble would do in distress. But, unlike an Eridian, Adrian opens two of their limbs to welcome Grace in for a hug.
"Thank you," Grace says, mostly into Adrian's carapace.
"It is my pleasure."
Adrian still thinks Grace is the softest thing on Erid. But at least now he won't be the only one.

Scarab is seated in the observational room with several other thrumming scientists. They shift uncomfortably at the scene commencing before them. The Savior of Stars lies on an Acoustic Reverberance Platform across a barrier of clear xenonite. The Savior, known as ‘Dr. Ryland Grace’, is currently… expressing intimacy… with the Survivor. ‘Rocky’, as the Savior calls them. Observing feels blasphemous.

Adrian leans forward. Just slightly, with their elbows resting on their knees.
“Grace,” they say softly—their voice like velvet now, instead of the neutral politeness— ”would you be interested in seeing what Rocky and I have been working on?”
My breath hitches.
That tone. That look.
Adrian’s practically oozing seduction right now, and Rocky—traitor that he is—hasn’t stopped his wandering hands either. If anything, they’re getting bolder.
“Y-yeah, yeah.” I say weakly, not even sure what I’m agreeing to yet. Rocky nuzzles into the crook of my neck with a hum.
