Summary
Arthur Pendragon walked through history with fire trailing in his wake. That was the hand that had carved Bayard of Mercia open and left him to die for six days pinned upon his desecrated throne. Those were the eyes that had looked down from the peaks of Mount Wyddfa and seen nothing below him that he could not conquer. The songs called him siegebreaker, earthshaker, battle-ender. Arthur Pendragon, deified and awful, protected by some great work of magic forged at his birth. Arthur Pendragon, whom no weapon forged by man could kill.
He had a nice smile. That was the first thing that struck Merlin. All the songs called him handsome, and Merlin could attest to their truth - those ice-blue eyes, that golden hair, that face carved as if from marble. He’d been prepared for that beauty, steeled against it. But he had not been prepared for that smile. It was an amused look, yes, but not coldly distant. It welcomed. It invited shared laughter, understanding, perhaps even the promise of brotherhood. For a second, Merlin could understand why so many men would follow the prince to their deaths.

Summary
The Prince, despite his best efforts, could not stop his hand from shaking as he held his sword to Merlin’s- no, not Merlin’s- pulse. The boy tried to crawl backwards a bit, away from the sharp edge, but Arthur just moved forward with him. The sword trembled with adrenaline against the sorcerer’s pale skin.
Arthur couldn’t help but notice the boy’s ruddy cheeks, bright red from the cold and exertion. The snow made light dance in his tear tracks. The neckerchief that Merlin commonly wore was discarded on the snow; It must have fallen during the fight. It left his smooth neck exposed to the cold, riddled with goosebumps, and unmarred save for the blood-soaked steel, pressing in on his pulse point. Arthur could not deny that the… thing wearing Merlin’s face was beautiful.
Merlin is forced to reveal his powers during an attack. Chaos and angst ensue. I feel like most people give Arthur too much credit in magic reveals.

Summary
In a world of marauding kings, the Pendragon empire is one of the strongest. With the use of a rumenthrall named Merlin, they are slowly, but surely, conquering the entirety of Albion.
Arthur Pendragon, heir to the throne, despises the dynasty and society he was born into, one that enslaves those with magical ability and values power over morality. However, despite his best efforts, he is powerless to stop his father, especially when it comes to Merlin.
One day, however, Uther will die and Arthur will be king. And Merlin and Arthur have plans.

Summary
