However, after all might lost his power, and the stress of being the true successor started to press in on him from all sides, the haunting darkness began to creep back into Deku's chest and clutch his heart with sharp claws.

It was over with Katsuki’s small retreat backward to look at the board. Over when Katsuki’s hand slipped over the squares, only to grip a piece between his fingers. The glorious moment – over, punctuated with the drag of Katsuki’s queen across the board, and a final dreadful clicking sound.
Katsuki laughed, coming close again.
He whispered right into Izuku’s mouth, “Checkmate.”
