Summary
Zuko has always been fascinated by the sea and everything in it, ships being a particular interest of his. How they are built, the gears, the types of fuel and how they influence navigation, the hierarchy within a ship and the unique language that the crew uses on the high seas. All this to say, when his father offered him a trip as a high-class passenger on the voyage with the Southern Raiders, he readily accepted, with his luggage in hand and a smile on his face. How lucky he is that his father is so kind!

He first awoke in the wreckage of a ship, surrounded only by snow and sea. Months pass, filled with confusion and fear, until Hakoda finds a nameless little boy with his crew during one of their hunts. Kiran is better than no name at all, isn't it?

“Awe look at you,” the voice rings out in Zuko's head. “You’re so desperate for me, pup.”
Zuko opens his eyes, blinking away the flecks of exhaustion that tread through his body. When he finally feels more awake, he tries to move only to find his hands securely tied to his chest. His legs are also spread open side by side with a metal bar that locks his legs firmly in place. To top it off an odd rubbery ball about the size of his fist is forcing his mouth into an open shape.
