Summary
A quasi-Lovecraftian deity gives Its lover an interactive instructional manual to improve his self-esteem. The Book of Angel is organized and narrated, in part, by an unknowable entity. It details Angel's life starting with his relationship with Kieran, who becomes his stalker of an ex, who launches Angel into the perilous journey that lands him onto the lap of luxury within the jokingly titled Sodomy Heaven.
Events progress and Angel and the Master catch up with The Book of Angel's narration, but their story isn't done. They must use The Book to keep abreast of nefarious foes and write their happily ever after.
The Book of Angel is a multi-perspective queer absurdist dark comedy that uses the story engines of fantasy, gender and familial dynamics, and romantic relationships to explore the nature of bigotry, the impact of abusive relationships, and healing. Mental health triggers apply. No first or third-person perspective is the author’s.
