Fernando has been saying “FUCK NO” to the Grid Dad gimmick for close to a decade now. It's just unfortunate that:
1) No one asked him anything
2) You don't choose the grid dad life, the grid dad life chooses you
3) That's not what the family tree Sebastian compiled saysSo unfortunately for Fernando not only he has Grid Kids he has to “coparent” with some of the biggest menaces the Grid ever saw, he now has a herd of half feral brats he is being forced to care about because they are his “Grid Grandkids”.
Fuck his life.
Or: Fernando is going through the horrors as he tries (and fails) to fight off the title of Grid Dad AND Grid Grandad. Half the Grid is feral. Max is experiencing mom-guilt. Carlos was supposed to be better than this. Charles is jealous. A “pretending I'm not hurt” competition hates to see George coming. Nico and Esteban would love to be excluded from the narrative. Lewis is fighting for his life. Jenson is here for the vibes and the vibes only. Nico is THE deadbeat parent trying to make up for lost time. Mark is an PTA mom. Sebastian is having the time of his life.
Kimi is probably lost in the woods somewhere.

Nico really can't catch a break. If it's not Lewis being mad at him, then it's Lewis being mad at Max. If it's not Lewis being mad at Max, then it's Max being mad at Lewis! And if all of those fail, he can apparently also add Max being mad at him to the list.
Just a perfect, dysfunctional, triangle of madness... but well, that's what family is all about. Probably.

Summary
{old title "to all the friends we made on track"}
Kimi joins Formula 1 in 2001 along with his fellow rookie Fernando. They meet and become friends with Jenson who introduces them to the lifestyle that professional racing drivers take part in, mostly parties where everyone gets massively drunk to forget the failures of the day or to celebrate the successes. Through they years they add Mark, Nico, Lewis and Sebastian to their crew and a messy cycle of situationships (and occasionally relationships) evolves to engulf them all. They race hard on track and the adrenaline has to spill over somewhere, usually in clubs or bars across the world as they fight for the coveted World Championship.
OR my silly little fic about how all 7 of the drivers like to fuck after battling on track that sometimes deals with deep emotions :)
Important Notes:
Endgame ships are Kimi/Sebastian, Jenson/Mark/Fernando, Nico/Lewis
However they will all have some sort of situationship with each other at some point so if any combo of the 7 is not something you want to read please skip.
Canon Compliant only goes so far so don't get mad at me if anything is inaccurate/not timed rightSeries
