Warmth coated his face a soft shade of pink and he carefully scooted Grace closer, til their stomachs were just about touching. “What are you… uh, wh—what do you wanna do here?” Simon asked, cursing himself internally for stuttering. Grace leaned in, his fingers brushing up to the black hair that dusted down his skin in front of his ears, and wandering back into the smooth black locks that curled in between his fingers like it needed to be played with, needed to be pulled or used however Grace wanted.
The sky blue eyes wandered down between them, and Simon felt his skin prickle and heat with an intoxicating need. It was only amplified when Ryland finally looked back up at him, his eyes drowning in headiness and desire. Shit. Shit. “Si,” Grace sighed out like the name alone could get him drunk, one hand drifting down over Simon’s chest. “I want you. So bad.”
(OR: Simon gets a semi unexpected visit from Ryland that takes more than a few unexpected turns.)

Simon wakes up. He hadn't thought he would wake up after his lungs were filled with blood. And yet, here he is, in a pitch-black room, wounds tended to, listening to the most beautiful song he's ever heard.
He's in a world where the stars are alive, and he's been rescued from his blood-soaked iron coffin by a strange, clever little rock-spider alien trying to save the stars. Of course he'll help. Too bad neither of them are biologists...
But the new human ship approaching them might have someone aboard who is... if they don't turn Simon into a lab rat first, anyway.[BloodyMary where Simon gets wormholed to PHM 'verse but it's before the Hail Mary arrives, so he's saved by Rocky and spends a while on the Blip-A]

“Is the alien…dangerous?” he asks slowly.
“No! No, no he’s my friend, he’s - uh, well, the engineer of the Hail Mary,” says Grace. “Look, I’m just saying that - he’s gonna wake up soon, and we don’t need to tell him about how our first meeting went. We can gloss over the whole ‘tackle me to the ground and scare the daylights out of me’ thing. I won’t tell if you won’t.”
Simon is 90% sure this is going to come back to bite him in the form of blackmail but he nods anyways, because it sure as hell sounds like Grace is implying Simon will be allowed to stay a while longer.
Rocky sleeps through the absolute shitshow that is Simon and Grace’s first meeting. It’s probably for the best.
