King’s Landing has fallen, but conquest does not bring peace to Jon’s reign. When he wakes, his gaze turns northward, to the blue-eyed terrors that rise in the frozen north. Meanwhile, another claimant has appeared bearing his elder brother’s face and name, and Dorne seeks to place this boy who calls himself Aegon upon the throne. Some who surround Jon are filled with zealous conviction that he is Azor Ahai reborn, but if Aegon yet breathes when he should lie amongst the dead, perhaps Rhaegar had spoken true when he had proclaimed his firstborn son, and not Jon, as the prince that was promised.
