A pink hedgehog clings to every memory, every echo of the hero, hoping that if she waits long enough, something, someone will ease the emptiness. The blurring face is fading away—until she finds her spark in the most unexpected place. Shadow.

Summary

While Floret enjoys the familiarity of Greg and the Crystal Gems, Steven goes through the unpredictable rollercoaster of foster care and ends up living with the Onion Family. After they unexpectedly reunite in high school, their paths are once again intertwined though neither of them realize it.

Summary
Steven is separated from his gem and unfortunately it doesn't reform soon enough to be the hero it should have been to save the day. With the opposing forces too strong for them, the crystal gems that are left make a quick escape with the humans and return to Earth, without his gem.
And when it comes back for him, it isn't him anymore.
