Summary
Therefore, when Steve finally snaps and reaches out to put his hand in Eddie’s hair, tangling his fingers in the softer and frayed curls at the base of Eddie’s nape, and bringing their faces closer and closer before kissing him, a gentle and sweet press of warm and damn lips against chipped ones-
Eddie still tells himself that it doesn’t mean anything.
Even as his hands too find their way into Steve’s hair and he swings his leg over Steve’s lap to sit on his strong thighs. It couldn’t possibly mean anything.
Steve and Eddie hook up. It doesn’t mean anything. Unless it does.
(Or, a character study on fear)

In the mess that is his life during and after the Apocalypse, at some point, Steve Harrington has a slow, burning, queer awakening thanks to a certain metalhead.
It feels like a teenage crush, but it hits harder, hotter, with tips of the ears burning, palms sweating, guts itching, hormone spiking, and loss of words at every witty comment, and all the shit. Fucking full package.

Summary
In Hawkins, the alpha is supposed to be on top. Literally and figuratively.
Steve Harrington has not gotten that memo. Or rather- he's gotten it, performed his role faithfully, and then floored it to a beta's trailer anyway.
OR alpha/beta dynamics except the alpha is the one begging. eddie finds this funnier than he should.

Summary
Despite appearances, at the end of the day: Eddie Munson is a realist.
Which is why, also despite appearances, there’s a corner of his brain, a sliver of his heart, that’s been expecting this.
Because Eddie Munson is so fucking far in love it’s almost inconceivable. His veins are all filled with starlight and soda pop, bright and fizzing and shit, he’s in love.
But Eddie Munson is a realist. And all stars burn out eventually. A good Coke goes flat and syrupy and kind of sickening, devastating, inevitable—
Eddie Munson is a realist. And so, in thinking through the evidence: he’s about ninety-five percent sure his boyfriend—his one and only, the love of his whole goddamn fucking life—is about to break up with him.
The extra five percent says: nah. Nah, that five percent is reserved for the distinct possibility that said love of his life has already broken up with him, and Eddie’s just too fucking oblivious to have figured it out anything but way too fucking late.
-
Or: a genuinely sappy tale of how fear makes for a very unreliable narrator, and how reading too far into song lyrics doesn’t really ever get you anywhere good.

Summary
Eddie shuffles closer to him. Knows he shouldn’t, knows he should steer this somewhere neutral, somewhere more distant, something more akin to just checking in on a friend but he can’t, he can’t. Not when Steve’s looking bashful, not when he’s awkwardly picking up a bit of paper again and folding it anxiously, not when he smells like the sea on a summer’s day and honey-sweet all at once.
“Seriously Steve, this is cool. Maybe you could make something for a campaign? Figurines are expensive, and honestly some of these are better. We could paint them, too.”
Steve looks up at him then. Really looks, and Eddie’s heart gallops in his chest at the sight of those warm brown eyes.
“I made them all for you,” Steve murmurs.
*****
In the wake of Vecna's defeat, with his friends busy with the aftermath, Steve takes up origami, tries to heal his scars in his big empty house , and falls in love with the alpha that comes to visit him daily.
Eddie.

Summary
It’s a little unfair, really.
After the copious amount of concussions he’s had, Steve Harrington feels figuring out complex mysteries should be left to other members of the party. But he can’t help noticing these little oddities - that the name Eddie calls himself and the name on his medical file are different, that Eddie has a book full of sketches of Nancy Wheeler that he keeps like a closely guarded secret. Or the fact that as he spends time with him, helping him through recovery, Steve can feel himself falling for Eddie Munson, despite historically being very heterosexual.
Steve’s stubborn, though, and determined. If no one’s going to tell him what’s going on - well, he’ll just have to fuck around and find out.

Summary
“You’re stubborn and a hothead. You’re impossible to work with and you’re stuck in the past. Nancy said you’d be hard work but this is fucking ridiculous. I’m here to do a job. You won’t let me change or even suggest anything.”
“Not true. I did change the turmeric for saffron.”
“Yeah and you’re about this close to jumping off a bridge before admitting that it actually does taste better.”
Steve could strangle him.
Because yes. The saffron does taste better. The saffron tastes so much better and the dish now makes Steve’s tastebuds soar and his eyes water and the only thing worse than admitting Eddie is correct right now, is admitting that that dish is miles fucking better since Eddie puts his hands on it.
And Steve finds himself wondering for a split fucking moment in between the rage he’s feeling, if everything is better with Eddie’s hands on it.
or
Son of famous, michelin-star chef, Steve Harrington is trying to gain a star of his own after a stint in rehab that left him with a lack of inspiration, until his restaurant manager Nancy has an idea of her own to add a spark back into the kitchen.
