    The cabinets sit unevenly, wood water-warped and aged, with shelves that bow under the weight of Katsuki’s extensive spice rack. The appliances are a little outdated, and the backsplash is fucking ugly—Katsuki’s words, because Eijirou kinda likes the weird colors—and in the middle of the kitchen sits a thick slab of marbled stone breaking up the room, with half a handprint already singed into the side from when Katsuki stubbed his toe on the corner of it during the tour.

    Just Eijirou and Katsuki, and the four edges of a countertop as the foundation for a life together.

    Or: everything and the kitchen sink.

    “I thought you said you hated surprise parties!” laughed Eijirou, finally lowering Katsuki to the ground, but refusing to release him from his grip. Katsuki isn’t complaining.

    “Only when they’re planned, idiot” he says, but there’s no bite to it. “I finished early. Thought it would be a nice surprise” he mumbled. He didn’t mean to look away, he could feel his cheeks burning. Damnit.

    Eijirou cups his face in both of his hands now, turning Katsuki’s face towards him with such tenderness, Katsuki feels like he could cry. “I think it is a wonderful surprise”

    He was on the screen, in their kitchen, shirtless, spatula in hand like a microphone, singing way too loud and way too into it, leaning in close enough that their noses almost touch before he laughs and bails.

    Bakugou scoffs immediately, heat creeping up his neck. “Ei—”

    “What?” Kirishima says, already defensive but smiling like hell. “Katsuki, I really like this—”

    “I didn’t know you were recording,” Bakugou snaps, sitting up just enough to glare at the phone.

    Kirishima just laughs, unabashed. “This video is so cute, bro. All the other people are gonna be violently jealous when they see my hot boyfriend serenading me.”

    “I was not serenading you, Eijirou,” Bakugou says flatly, but his ears are red, and Kirishima clocks it immediately.

    “Mmm,” Kirishima hums, replaying it again anyway. "You absolutely were.” Bakugou clicks his tongue, reaching over to try and steal the phone, but Kirishima rolls away at the last second, still laughing.

    Bakugou “accidentally” serenates Kirishima the day before Valentine’s Day. There is video proof.
