  1. Summary

Vanessa O'Connor was preparing to end her Sophomore Year with a few minor changes.

You know, the usual. New look, new attitude, maybe branch out and meet some new people.

That was before she hit Derek Hale with her car.

Now Scott's a werewolf. Stiles is freaking out. The new girl comes from a family of Hunters. And the Queen Bee herself, Lydia Martin just acknowledged she existed! Not to mention, all of this just had to happen around the same time as her meeting the cute boy in her art class, Isaac Lahey.

Vanessa and her two best friends have to navigate the clashing forces of high school cliques, supernatural creatures and the people that hunt them.

Just a regular Tuesday in Beacon Hills.

Luckily this brunette is armed with the intuition and charm needed to get them through this...but will they all get out alive?

    Summary

The first letter Gale gets from Bucky is about a unicorn.

    -----

Gale’s used to John rambling when he’s drunk, usually while hanging off one arm hooked around Gale’s shoulders, but there’s a different note to his written word. When he’s drunk in person, he likes to pester Gale with questions, get Gale to talk about himself. When it’s just John and a pen, it seems he simply shares every little thought that crosses his mind.

He lets the letter close on its own again, staring down at his eggs until he hears “Good morning, Major!” from outside the mess hall. Hurriedly, Gale tucks the letter back into its envelope and the envelope into the pocket of his trousers. By the time the doors swing open, John sauntering in like he owns the base and the mess and the doors themselves, Gale’s sure all knowledge of John’s words—of that lipstick print pressed onto paper beside John’s name—has been wiped from his face.

All the same, he can’t resist taking a peek. John’s walking on air. Gale smiles.

    Summary

He takes the final step, lifts the lantern to flood the empty station with light, and sees a man laying on his stable floor.
He’s brunette, sweating, breathing unsteadily. There’s blood wiped messily on his forehead, down his neck. Half laying, half sitting up against the stack of haybales Buck keeps at the bottom of this station, he’s got one bloody hand pressed to his right thigh, which is caked with crimson. His other hand rests wearily on the Colt that’s tucked into the waistband of his pants.
Gale’s heart jumps, he wishes suddenly that he really did have a rifle, but when the man sees that Buck’s unarmed he raises the hand slowly, in a shaky surrender.
    -
“You got a name?” Buck asks, in an attempt to distract.
The stranger swallows and takes a deep breath. “Bucky.”
Buck almost pauses in his work. He scoffs and shakes his head. “I’ll be damned.”
    “Why’s that?”
    “People call me Buck.”
Bucky huffs out a pained laugh, which quickly devolves into a groan. When he’s finished, he says, “Goddamn fate.”

    -

The one where stablehand Gale finds outlaw John “Bucky” Egan bleeding out in his stables.

(The sequel, seven miles out of freedom town, has been posted.)

    Summary

“What good are you over there? I want you here.”

They’ve done this numerous times before, back in flight school. Bucky cosied up to his side in bed, the scruff on his cheek scraping over Gale’s collarbone. It only happened when the nights were cold, and Bucky was sloshed.

    Plausible deniability.

In what Gale does now, they would be hard-pressed to find deniability of any kind. Both of them eagerly ignore that Bucky is not drunk enough, and that the woefully public nature of their surroundings in no way resembles the safety of their shared room back in Texas.

Climbing into the cot, Gale tries to temper his rapidly beating heart. Bucky will find a way to snug close enough to plaster his ear to his chest. He will hear it, but won’t comment—skirting the line, never to cross it.

Or, Gale is jealous of Bucky's girls.

    Summary

The Major’s still smiling. “You got me wet,” he says. His chest is heaving, just like Gale’s is, and his white t-shirt is blotched translucent with wine. The knife indents Gale’s skin; he can feel it in his collarbones.

“Do it,” Gale grunts. “Do it, because if you don’t, I’m going to fucking kill you.”

    “You won’t.”

“Give me back the knife, then.” The Major huffs a short laugh, and the tip of the knife twists and presses as he shifts his grip.

“You won’t,” he repeats. “You like me too much.” He leans in, heavy, hips grinding into Gale’s and the blade digging hard enough that it seems about to burst the skin. His lips are incongruously soft at Gale’s ear, brushing and breathing with delicacy. “I get you wet.”

    Summary

Brady shakes his head, speaking to Buck, “You’ll never get rid of him. He follows you around like a lost puppy looking for scraps.”

And Bucky can’t really argue with that so he shrugs and plays into it, says, “I’ve been thinking of moving to Casper, Wyoming. See what all the charm is. Long as I can dodge the dog catchers I might make a life for myself there.”

    Buck snorts next to him.

    Or:
Bucky doesn’t know anything about curses or soulmates, but he does know he’ll do anything to save Gale.
