Lucifer would be lying if he said he hadn’t imagined claiming the unfairly pretty deer sinner as his own, and shutting him up in the process. He just needed a little push, and no one liked to push him quite like Alastor.

Summary
The rutting season, it’s a first Lucifer even hears of it. He knows, of course, what it means in terms of animals and nature, more specifically of the deer nature but Alastor definitely isn’t an animal, despite some very distinct deer features. Perhaps he has more of a deer in himself than he lets on, though and if so, Lucifer is dying of curiosity what it even means for him during his season.

.Except, what he comes to is no rut at all, which makes Lucifer simultaneously scream inside and lose his mind irreversibly for one pretty doe over and over again, whom he finds in the dim lights of the bayou.
He’s ready to count his blessings as long as the breeding season allows it.

Alastor was supposed to finish his shift, clock out, and get home before his heat broke loose. That was the plan.
But when the elevator stalls between floors and he finds himself trapped in a mirrored box with the wrong alpha at the worst possible moment, there’s nowhere left to hide. The suppressants are wearing off. The scent blockers are failing. And Lucifer Morningstar smells like every terrible idea Alastor’s ever had.

Summary
Lucifer didn't understand how he felt. He didn't know why he was so agitated, reacting as if, deep down, he had not wanted that. The demon had said he could — and only in that way —, even though he was far too drunk to think clearly and, shortly after, had laughed so hard he almost fell backward, as if it were the most hilarious joke he'd ever told.
No. Perhaps he was just surprised that Lucifer had finally taken the action he had been waiting for so long and had gone into shock. It could also be just another of his games to challenge the king, who wouldn't fall for the demon's petty blackmail. Whatever it was, the angel decided he wouldn't accept that reaction as an answer.
