Adriana doesn’t tell their parents that she’s going to LA. She doesn’t tell Eddie, either—or ask, for that matter.
She does ask Chris, and he thinks it’s a good idea—says as much, on the phone, and doesn’t say much else.
“Buck will probably be hovering,” is what Chris does volunteer.
It still surprises her when the man who opens the door is not Eddie. It’s—Captain America, is the thing that actually comes to mind—a man close to a foot taller than she is, if not more than that, with blond curls and broad shoulders, and he’s got a question in his very blue eyes that’s probably less friendly than the one he actually asks her.
“Uh,” he says. “Can I help you?”

Dear Captain Nash,
I know this email is kind of out of the blue, but I didn’t know who else to reach out to. I’m not even sure how to start this email. One time Buck and I signed up for this pen pal program, but the kid in Maine I was writing with gave up after two rounds of letters. It was during my ancient Egypt phase and I think I scared him off with my questions about mummies. Buck told me I was too cool for him anyway.

When Chris starts going to church in Texas he reaches out to the only person he can think of who might have some answers, meanwhile Eddie uses his email to try and talk to God, and Buck... well Buck online shops mostly.

“I remember you,” Leon said to the Tyrant, firing off a couple of bullets at it even though he knew it wouldn’t do him any good. For the last trigger pull he pivoted, aiming toward the soldier at the same moment he happened to leap forward, and the thunk of the bullet catching the edge of his mask and ripping it away from his face caused both Leon and the Tyrant to pause for a split second. Then Leon was flinging up his hatchet to deflect the massive haymaker aimed for his head, only to get caught in the abdomen by a punch so hard it sent him flying back into the hallway, the breath pushed from his lungs. “Ugh… I remember that, too.”
He pushed himself up and pulled Requiem from its holster, setting his sights on the weakened joists over the Tyrant’s approaching head. In the split second before he pulled the trigger, Leon caught a glimpse of Zeno’s soldier with his mask off… and was startled to realize that he recognized him.
