Summary
It had seemed the best thing to do, when faced with a recently freed child who cries out for his mother in his sleep. Naboo is so close to Tatooine. It's barely out of their way at all. Two days added to their trip back to Coruscant, maximum. If they leave the Nabooian celebration early the Jedi Council won't even notice.
Of course, with Obi-Wan's luck, everything takes a turn for the worse. Anakin's dreams about his mother prove prophetic. Sith burn half of Mos Espa and their ship with it; chase them into the desert, into increasingly dire straits.
He starts dreaming of his soulmate again, too, as though he needs the extra complication.

Summary
Obi-Wan Kenobi was meant to be a Jedi. He felt it in the Force, saw it in his dreams—visions—at night.
Yet... No one else seemed to see it.
The Force was creative though, and if Obi-Wan's path to being a Jedi was blocked by stubborn Jedi who wouldn't listen, well... Not one, but two encounters with pirates might open up another path entirely.
If not as a Jedi, then the Force will find another way to use Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Summary
Anakin will be sad, Obi-Wan thinks. Both his mentors gone in one day. Not that either of them were very good mentors, in the end; one a Sith Lord, and other a fool who let his padawan into the Sith’s den. He wants to laugh, but his breath catches in his throat.
Cody will survive the war, at least, even if it is to mourn him.
The thought stabs through him, more excruciating than the lightning. Of all the people he didn’t want to leave behind, Cody is the foremost. So much sacrificed in this war, so much lost, but Cody is the one good thing he’s found.

After the war ends, Obi-Wan wakes up.
