Summary
For his entire life, Teruya had been dutifully following in his father's footsteps, studying business to one day take over the Otori Mart. A sense of finality overtakes him as he enters Hope's Peak Academy as the Ultimate Merchant, now reaching new heights in his field of study as the school sets up the building blocks to become a man who could finesse any conversation in his favor.
Yet no ideal that Hope's Peak Academy can tell are truly important in comparison to Haruhiko and Satsuki, two of his first real friends in life. The three of them could stay up long past midnight and still entertain each other for hours. They are a sort of hectic Teruya didn't know he desperately needs in his rigid life of people-pleasing.
And so it hurt when they both told him they started dating. It wasn't like they never included him, their dynamics stayed mostly the same! But it all felt different, like he's a third-wheel in a two man show.
It hurt even more when he realized he loves Haru.
And most hurtful of all was Haruhiko's untimely death one night along the beach.
Teruya can't afford the waves of grief to capsize him, not when he's so close to his dream.
His own dream.

Summary
Maintaining a conversation with Haru isn't a hassle for Yuki, it's keeping himself engaged with the tales of beautiful women that loses him. Without a filter, restraint, or the ability to read the room, Haru irritates Yuki to no end, yet it's his directness and extroverted nature which compels Yuki to find out more behind the woman-loving machine of Haruhiko.
And of course, Yuki had to answer a question without a thought at the worst of times...

Originally meant as a character study but I eventually leaned in more on the Haruya ship aspect as I think they are quite underrated.. so yeah!!!
