    Summary

“You know,” Olruggio says, roughly. He doesn’t move to take Qifrey’s hand again. “You know. You can’t not know, Qifrey.”

Qifrey just looks at him. “I do.”

    The rain continues falling.

(And so Olruggio forgets. And he inevitably figures it out again, because of course he does; and he inevitably chooses to forget again, and again, and again, because his heart is always the same. The story is always the same. Like a tale from under a silverwood tree, like a myth from the days of old, not so much tied by the constraints of the narrative so much as being narrative itself. Antigone must bury her brother. Iphigenia must be put to death. At a thousand turns, in a thousand ways, Orpheus must turn, and he must look, again, and again.

    And Olruggio forgets.)

There is an old story about a witch and a silverwood tree.

    Summary

What should one do or feel when he discovers that his old friend has been erasing his mind, over and over again, for almost as long as they've known each other?
Most people would react with anger or distress. Perhaps they'd consider it a betrayal. But Olruggio isn't most people. Nor is this a situation anyone else would ever find themselves in.
Not like this. Not like the two of them.
Because he knows perfectly well that he is the one to blame: The real culprit behind the spell that's trapping them in an endless loop of misery.
    ---
Olruggio remembers everything. He fully intends to use this knowledge to his advantage. This plan will be better than the last.
(Spoilers up to Chapter 93 of the WHA manga)

    Summary

Every so often, even years after Olruggio had accepted Qifrey’s I can’t, that tension between them pulled taut. Olruggio’s eyes were a deep, dark blue, and at night they looked nearly black, even with the lamp casting light onto his face.
“Sometimes,” Olruggio said, “I feel like you’re hiding something.”

How Qifrey kept himself carefully, deliberately, painstakingly miserable all these years.

“Master Olruggio’s tassel looks like the ones on our caps, doesn’t it?”

Coco has not taken her eyes off of the cap sitting on the table when she said, “Would you guys think the ribbon looks better on Master Olruggio’s cap?”

“Richeh thinks the ribbon belongs to Master Olruggio’s cap,” she said in finality.

Or, the girls (and their master) discuss cap designs and tassels.
