Summary
It's been years since Doctor Ryland Grace saved Erid and Earth. He is content with his life, happy just to teach the next generation of Eridians and have the occasional game night with Rocky and Adrian in his dome. For the most part, nothing changes.
And that's the problem. Shouldn't Grace, y'know...age? When Rocky indicates that he should be sixty human years old by now, Grace can't reconcile the young face in the mirror with the time that his friend has religiously kept.
Things get more complicated when another undoubtedly human ship shows up at the edge of the 40 Eridani system. Suddenly Grace is playing ambassador between the two species, and tensions are rising between them. He hadn’t exactly been the most clean-nosed child, and after his enlistment, he got fairly acquainted with what pain can do to the body, what trauma can do to the mind; what spilt blood can do to the soul. There were still nights he laid awake, listening to the muffled bombs in the distance, to the whimpers and moans of his brothers as they fought through dreams. He knew how blood smelled, how it tasted, how it felt on the skin, how there were too many types of pain to accurately describe and how to inflict each one. He’d long since desensitized himself to it— there was no room for squeamishness when you were fighting to survive, and less when you were the only one who managed it. He’d had blood on his hands for a long, long time.

Summary
Harry Dresden was adopted years early but not by Justin Demore. Instead he was adopted and trained by Kincaid the Hell Hound. With a different upbringing Harry is stronger for it. He sees even more of the grey areas and has few ties to the White Council.
At 16 he and Kincaid are contracted to kill Justin DeMore. Using explosives the take out DeMore and unfortunately his enthralled apprentice. Harry learns about the potential consequences and collateral damage of their work. The upside to their actions was saving potentially disastrous results of having a former Warden as a Warlock and collecting the Spirit of Air and Intellect. Reluctantly Harry is allowed to keep and name the spirit.
At 22 Harry breaks out on his own as a mercenary. He travels as much as he can but something keeps calling him back to Chicago. In a way it was a home he never really had with his and Kincaid's lifestyle. As he makes a name for himself Harry draws the attention of those who are curious about things left alone.

Summary
On their way back to Erid, Rocky and Grace discover a mysterious box. Upon opening it, the two discover some strange changes. Well, perhaps way more than strange.
Rocky finds a new marking on his arm similar to Grace's scar, and Grace finds markings similar to Rocky's on his arms and legs.
Rocky begins to dream and can easily wake from sleep, and Grace can stay up for much longer than a normal human should.
Grace starts seeing sound when it's too dark to properly see, and Rocky starts seeing pops of colour in his sound vision.
Neither can understand what's happening to them and how they're seemingly linked together, but they know there's nothing in the world that could tear them apart.
(TLDR: This fic will include almost everyone's favourite things! Rocky learns about how Grace got on the Hail Mary (Including Rocky witnessing the memory of Grace being sent on the Hail Mary)! Grace can survive in Rocky's atmosphere! Grace will live as long as Rocky! Rocky and Adrian reuinite and Adrian meets Grace! Grace will get to go back to Earth with Rocky (for a bit and then go back to Erid)! Grace will get to confront and get closure with Stratt! Fanart included!)
