    Waverly Boyle has never liked parties, and to throw one now, with the rest of Dunwall drowning in plague, seems especially tasteless. Nonetheless, appearances must be kept, and so her and her sisters open their doors and invite the wealthy in to trade drinks and secrets.

    Waverly never sees the end of that party, secreted away on a fishing boat with nothing but an apology and a knife, both given to her by the desperate shadow of the man that was once Corvo Attano.

    Years later, when her kidnapper is just bones at the bottom of the ocean, Waverly seeks out Corvo again, to see what became of the man who showed her mercy that day, so long ago.

    To see what has happened to the city she's left behind.

    The weird thing wasn’t that Ahsoka hadn’t explained where they were going; it was that she was enjoying herself too much.

    “Seriously.” It was probably pointless, but Sabine tried one more time. “You’re in a really good mood, and that’s, like, automatically suspicious.”

    “Hurtful,” Ahsoka observed. Then, glancing over: “Strap in, padawan. I’m starting our landing sequence. There’s…someone I want you to meet.”

     

    Or: In which Sabine probably could have stood to know less about her Jedi Master's love life. She's also increasingly certain she must have missed some kind of orientation meeting on all of the ominous backstory references flying over her head. Or maybe she's just being hazed.

    When Vi first moved back to Zaun after several failed attempts to make something of herself, she knew that she would need some time to readjust to things– the last time she had been here, she and her sister had still been on perfectly good terms, though that has not been the case ever since. In a way, she is grateful to not have any other family left to let down besides her sister; the younger woman has been good thus far about avoiding her completely, so even as she trudges back into their old haunting grounds, Vi finds that she doesn’t have to face anyone’s disappointment in her abject and repeated failures that drove her back to the same cracked, hole-ridden streets of her childhood.
