Summary
Peter has dedicated the past eight years of his life to fighting. Online, Peter is a hero, he walks into the arena and shines, he moves deliberately and lethally and is damn good at what he does. When he logs off and puts the VR headset down, Peter is struggling. He's busy and clumsy, he spends his little free time online, watching shitty sci-fi movies, or studying. The rest of his time is spent at lectures and working two jobs at minimum wage, still not making enough money for rent each month. But that doesn't seem to deter Wade who, for some unknown reason, thinks Peter deserves the world.

Peter sprinted home. His feet thumped hard on the ground as he dodged around a rapidly approaching taxi. Maybe he should be a tad more careful but his professor insisted that they all stay just ten more minutes (much to Peter's (and the next professor’s) frustration). So now Peter was more than late and he had promised he wouldn’t be late for this event. He couldn’t be late.

Peter wasn't sure what had just happened. One second, he was being carried by an angel. The next, he was hitting the floor. He felt like he'd been hit by a thousand trucks and then thrown off the Empire State Building. He coughed, sputtering out blood, his body shook, and he curled in on himself at the pain.
Had he died?

Summary
Peter blinked in the bright light. Something wasn’t right. He’d been on patrol, peacefully sat on a rooftop, waiting. No spidey sense, no sound, no warning, all of a sudden there was a sharp pain to the back of his head and- Peter looked around. Where was he? Did he leave the stove on? Oh god, what was he supposed to do if he did? Was he dead? Was this heaven? Hell?
“Next.” A bored voice called from in front of him. Peter quickly stepped forward to the dull oak desk that had seemingly just appeared in the otherwise blank landscape. “Name?” the person asked. They looked like a secretary. Was this an office? Yup, hell. Maybe not going to church was a mistake. -
