What if at AH, Edwina realised she & A weren't suited, but she needed a way out of the courtship that didn't risk her reputation. Cue Edwina throwing Kate under the bus
Edwina closed her eyes again, but this time genuine tears began to fall as she betrayed her sister in the worst way possible. As loudly as she could without being obvious, but so at least those nearby could clearly hear her, Edwina spoke. “We caught them. Kate and Lord Bridgerton. They were alone in his study…” Edwina paused and closed her eyes before hammering the final nail into her sister’s coffin. “Embracing one another.” And now the tears flowed freely.

This is the result of fic prompts by @iris_bee_: AU - after bee sting K doesn’t come out of her room cause she’s ‘indisposed’ so even tho she’s fine A freaks out & sneaks to check up on her a few times & he sneaked into her room that night to check she was well & K woke up, saw him there 👀 What if [Edwina] found K & A while they were talking outside?👀👀 A bribes a bunch of maids to check up on K & report back to him on how she's doing after the bee sting without being suspicious.
