This is a reimagining of Jane Austen's Persuasion but in the world of Harry Potter. If you've not read it before I highly recommend it, although that is not necessary for you to read this fic.
This is a tale about enduring affection that is given a second chance and about a protagonist who has to learn to find themselves after long adhering to the wants and needs of others, which is part of the reason I have found it so fitting.
This is traditionally a Period Romance but I have been able to be more than a little vague about the exact 'period', thanks to women working in the wizarding world throughout the ages, so feel free to imagine whatever setting you desire.

But, as Lady Danbury explains when she offers to help, the Queen is a romantic at heart, so tidbits of petty gossip won’t suffice for long. If Penelope can’t keep the Queen interested, well, that will be the end of both Penelope and Lady Whistledown. So now she needs to find a story of romance in a ton filled to the brim with rakes and social climbers, quite the challenge indeed. Edwina Sharma, who somehow has Penelope all figured out, keeps suggesting that she ‘look closer to home’. A riddle Penelope might be able to decipher if Colin Bridgerton wasn’t being so damn distracting. Oh, and on top of all this, she has to somehow mend her friendship with Eloise, avoid Lord Fife’s wandering hands, and keep her mother focused on finding Prudence a husband so she can stay firmly planted on the wall.
