Summary
Steve could play it cool during his shifts and hell, he'd even manage to distract himself whenever him and Robin were frolicking around town, getting Slurpees and talking about her love life. When he was alone was where the trouble started. He would hang his keys up on the hook next to the front door and the silence would immediately bombard him with echoes of "don't ya, big boy?", the very words that made his brain short circuit.

The light flips on, and there's a loud shriek that makes Eddie jump and hit his head on a shelf in the freezer.
"What are you doing here?!" Steve Harrington demands, brandishing an ice cream scoop like it's a weapon.
In a sailor suit.
Goofy hat, tall socks. A bow around his neck that Eddie has a brief flash of what it might be like to yank on. Just a little.
Or: Somebody's gotta deliver the ice cream to Scoops Ahoy, and that somebody is Eddie.

Summary
Steve Harrington is his thousandth secret; his longest secret; the one that matters both too much and not enough. Sometimes, Eddie wants to put it all down on paper, tease out the threads until they lay flat and he can see the beginning, the middle, the end, understand how they got here and there, how it both started and ended with the sharp press of a beer bottle to the stubbled skin of Steve’s throat.
It might make him feel better. Might make everything fucking worse.
Regardless, Steve is a secret, and Eddie keeps him.
For whatever that’s worth.

“The whole team, huh?” Eddie feels delirious as he blurts out, “Slut.”
Before he can clap a hand over his stupid mouth, Steve laughs and shoots back, “Virgin.”

Summary
Once the Upside Down is sealed, Eddie’s hunger is entirely his own, sharp edges smoothing into something heavier, entirely human in its greed. Heat pools in his icy veins, and he starts to test it, just a little, never one to leave interesting things alone. There’s an undeniable undercurrent of lust to the whole thing, especially when he lets his grip linger, draws the moment out, murmurs Steve’s name and bites his bicep instead, starts feeding from his neck and never goes back, dreams about sinking his fangs into the meat of Steve’s thighs, of being completely surrounded by his warmth.
He learns to drink more slowly, to savor the way Steve clings to him, and is surprised when Steve crawls into Eddie’s lap one night and doesn’t ever offer his wrist again. Eddie delights in how he softens the more he takes, the more Steve offers, like being needed is a balm instead of a burden.
It’s intoxicating in a way blood alone never could be.
It’s how Steve acts in the aftermath, though — how he lingers, how dazed his eyes are, the softening of his shoulders — that keeps Eddie coming back for more.
OR: Eddie needs blood to survive. Steve loves to volunteer.
