Chuuya stares at him, confused. “We’re disqualified,” he says, just as softly.
“I know,” Dazai says, and the small smile he offers Chuuya lacks the regret that he would’ve expected it to possess. “But let’s try this again, anyway. If you can’t hear it in the dark, put your trust in me. Take another step.”

Summary
Chuuya is leaning up, not thinking past the dizzying scent that’s making his mind a little hazy and the alluring pull of looking into Dazai’s eyes. And he doesn’t mean to say the next thing that comes out of his mouth,
“You haven’t really convinced me enough to go though.”
But he doesn’t regret it when Dazai seems to lean even closer to the point that all Chuuya has to do is go on his toes and he can finally have a taste, to feel that voice against his mouth—
