Summary
Everyone thought Severus Snape had been in love with Lily Potter.
Everyone was wrong.
Lily had been his first friend, his first miracle, the first clean hand ever offered to him. But she had not been his first crush.
Unfortunately, that honor belonged to James Potter.
Years later, after war, survival, therapy, and eight peaceful years away from England, Severus returns to Hogwarts as Potions master and finds Harry Potter there as Head Auror, teaching the senior students twice a week.
