Summary
Wren was enthralled by the ocean. Rumors said she’d been bitten by a shark when she was a child and it has tasted the magic in her veins, granting her some of its powers to turn her into a fearsome sea witch. She spent most of her days there; fishing in her dinghy or with her feet submerged as she sat by the pier and scribbled in her notebook. She wanted to be a scientist, she said. That’s what most witches did; hid their magic behind logic. She wanted to discover the mythical mermaid and revolutionize marine biology. Day in and day out the witch scoured the ocean's horizon, swam with dolphins, dug between corals surrounding her house. She sent paper after paper to the Institute for Marine Sciences in the city detailing her findings of claw marks in the reeves and slender shadows in the depths. The children said they saw her slaughter animals and throw them into the sea clear sky nights.
But not even her witchy ways could lure the elusive mermaid out of hiding.
Until it did.

Thankfully, he seems to have mellowed out now that you’ve knocked his ego down a peg, except you still don't understand why he keeps coming back to Feroxia, and you’re starting to see he's like a double-sided coin sitting on its rim. Just when you think you've got him figured out, he flips around and surprises you.

So explain this: you enter Gerudo Town, piss of the citizens, uncover a secret and find the long lost bearer of the Triforce of Courage. Now you're forced to convince the chief to let you take said bearer--and the first gerudo male in hundreds of years--back to the castle.

Summary
The intricacies of war is something you do not know much of. You’ve been told it starts quietly, that war never begins with the trading of blows and bloodshed. In truth, you never really quite understood what that meant, but then you suppose you weren’t meant to. Politics wasn’t on your curriculum, traded out with sewing and painting and other useless commodities.
But still, you’d heard about the unrest to the south, the rumors of dissent and the anti-capitol posters. You’d wondered, at the time, if that was what people meant. If you could trace back to the first protest, the first whisper of treason, would you be able to pinpoint the exact moment a war became an inevitability?
The capitol gates come crashing down with an explosion of gunpowder and debris.

Seeing Jasper described as a hot med student is distantly surreal in a way I’m not sure I’ll ever get used to despite its objective truth here lol but this fic is a long time fave of mine and I’m so glad it’s seeing the fresh air of ao3 instead of sitting cooped up in my ‘recently visited’ docs. I recommend this wholeheartedly.
