Work Text:
When her eyes fluttered open, Del realized her back was cold. Blinking, she raised her head. As expected, Jen had the sheet and blanket balled up, clutched to her chest. Del carefully moved her arm from around Jen’s waist and gently tugged on the blanket.
Jen resisted, “Ngh…” She gripped it harder.
Del whispered, “Babe, the big spoon is cold. Just a few inches of the blanket, please?”
Jen turned her head and blinked. Still half asleep, she shifted out of her little spoon position. When her arm touched Del’s cold skin, she opened her eyes, slightly more awake.
“Oh, sorry, baby! Let me warm you up.” Jen’s warm front pressed into Del’s. Their legs tangled together as best they could with Del’s cast. Jen’s blanket wrapped arm tucked in around her girlfriend’s shoulder. “Better?”
Del hummed. “Always better with you in my arms.”
Jen’s nose brushed Del’s. “Yes it is.” She leaned in further and kissed her. “We probably should sleep in clothes during the winter.”
“Where’s the fun in that?”
“True.” Jen pressed herself into Del’s thigh. “Merry Christmas.”
Del’s hands trailed down Jen’s body, stopping at her bottom. She gave it a squeeze, encouraging Jen to continue moving against her. “Merry Christmas.”
Jen whispered. “I’ll never get enough of you.”
Del smiled. “Kiss me. We can pick up where we left off last night.”
Lost in each other’s warmth and love, they celebrated their second Christmas together.
