Chapter Text
Nico di Angelo had to make a new life. His mental health was at risk and he was burnt out. He needed to fit in and create his own life.
Gotham seemed the best. He wouldn't be out of place with the mayhem of that place, the Gods had forsaken it and no one knew him. If he used his powers people would mistake him as a meta and monsters temded to avoid the area due to thinned mist.
The mist was thinner in Gotham due to mutants, metas and weapons being a daily occurance. What was the point of the mist hiding something normal?
The city was full of vigilantes, villains and mayhem. He'd fit right in. Who knew, he might even start some crime fighting himself. As fucked as Gotham was it was still tame compacted his normal.
It was perfect.
Hades stern face looked down at his young son. He didn't want his son to have a miserable life but that was where it was headed. He was glad when Nico had recognised that and chosen a new life. It would be hard to say goodbye. If Hades had any control he would keep Nico away from all other demigod shit. And he had a feeling Nico wouldn't be alone for long in Gotham. Badman had a way of adopting kids, maybe Nico could be one of them.
"You deserve a break, son. I'll do what I can to keep them of your back."
"Thank you dad."
Saying goodbye to Camp Half Blood and Camp Jupiter. was strange. He didn't really have anyone to say goodbye to. Percy and Annabeth were at uni and had stopped talking regally, Jason was Dead, Reyne had retired and enjoying going abroad, things were awkward with Will post break up and no one else he was close with. He only struggled saying goodbye to Hazel, but she was so supporting and loving and they agreed on an occasional meet ups.
Saying good bye to the camps themselves though felt like a relief. So many negative emotions were tied to these places, he was ready to leave.
Nico had found himself a small, rundown flat inside crime alley. He could afford something more with the money his dad gave him, but it would look suspicious. Gothamites we're very weary and a teen buying a house would be odd. Besides this apartment would do just fine, he could call it home and make it his own home with a few changes.
He started by paying the walls a dark grey and storage units black. He bought a good bed, not the shitty airmattress he'd replaced. He unpacked his growing collection of weapons and hid them around the room and then packed away his clothes.
Tomorrow his new life would start.
